One of the most overlooked aspects from criminal cases is if a belief that a dismissal of a case or a successful completion of a probation makes the cases disappear from your record. Even if a dismissal is obtained, the arrest is still likely present on a person’s criminal history. For adults, an expunction or motion for non-disclosure will remove any record of an arrest from their records. Juveniles may be eligible to have their records sealed. If you successfully get your case dismissed, it is equally as important to remove the arrest from your record. If the arrest remains on a person’s record this can certainly impact a person ability to obtain employment or receive admission into school. If you have a question about your criminal history, or think you may be eligible for an expunction or to have your record sealed, call me for a free consultation.
